RECEPTIONIST OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

Amicale Internationale des Sous-Directeurs et Chefs de Réception des Grands Hôtels (AICR), or more commonly known as The International Association for Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of luxury hotels is a non-profit organisation, that allows members to participate in various events throughout the year!

One key event is the 'Receptionist of the Year' competition. We are pleased to announce this year's candidates from Marsden Hotels & Resorts.

Rachel Lungay - Marsden Viaduct

Hello everyone! My name is Rachel Lungay. I am originally from the Philippines. I came to New Zealand to study the Hotel and Hospitality Industry. I joined Marsden in 2019 as Housekeeping Supervisor of Ramada Victoria, and in June 2021, I was the Senior Housekeeping Supervisor of Ramada Manukau. Just this year, I joined the front office department at Marsden Viaduct. It’s been 4 months now and I love what I am currently doing. It’s been my goal to learn in this department and I’m happy with what I have learned and experienced so far. I enjoy communicating with guests from all over the world, providing them with the best service from all aspects and making it a memorable stay for every single one of them. In my free time, I like to go to nature places or just spend time with my family and friends. I like to play tennis and badminton, so if you want to play, give me a buzz 😊

I want to thank Ma’am Jacqui, Keerthy, and Amila for always believing in me. I'm thankful for all your trust and support.

Anael Presles - Microtel Wellington

Hi, I’m Anael and I started working with Marsden last year. I worked at Wyndham Garden Queenstown for 4 months, then left to accomplish a personal challenge: walking the length of the South Island (Te Araroa). This year, I had the opportunity to work at Ramada Wellington and to be part of the opening team at Microtel Wellington where I’m currently working for 5 months now.

Originally from France, I arrived in New Zealand in January 2020. I enjoy all the outdoor activities that New Zealand has to offer! I’m happy to put my Bachelor's degree in Business Management as well as my professional experiences in human resources and customer services to good use.

Hrushabh Dhonde - Microtel Wellington

I started working with Marsden in April this year. I had the opportunity to be a part of the opening team of Microtel by Wyndham Wellington central as a guest service agent. Since then, it has been a great journey filled with learnings and cheerful interactions with our guests.

I completed my graduation in Hospitality in India, after which I came to New Zealand and I pursued PGDM in Hospitality at Auckland University of Technology. I decided to come to NZ because of its huge tourism industry which provides me with amazing opportunities like these to pursue my career in Hospitality. Thank you!
