Yesterday, our Marketing Coordinator, Daria Varennikova, had the pleasure of attending the BEIA Member Networking Event held at the elegant Bar Albert at Voco Auckland City Centre.
It was a wonderful evening reconnecting with industry peers like Lee King and Carly Jackson, and engaging with colleagues from some of Auckland’s top hotels and venues. Events like these are more than just networking - they’re about strengthening relationships, sharing insights, and staying united in our commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
One of the key moments of the evening was a significant announcement shared by Lisa Hopkins. The New Zealand Government has moved to lift a long-standing barrier that prevented the full hosting of international medical conferences in the country. Soon, exhibitors will be allowed to present new products and research to New Zealand medical professionals prior to Medsafe approval. This welcomed change not only enhances New Zealand’s appeal as a conference destination but also paves the way for greater international engagement and industry growth.

At Marsden Hotels, we’re excited about what this means for the future of hospitality and events in Aotearoa. We look forward to welcoming more international delegates to our properties across New Zealand and continuing to play our part in supporting a vibrant, forward-looking industry.
This looks like such a valuable event for fostering connections! Networking is key in any industry, whether you’re a book writer refining a manuscript or a hospitality pro sharing insights. Just as a book writer relies on collaboration to polish their work, events like these help professionals grow through shared knowledge.
